Planning Your Visit
SPECIAL INFORMATION TO HELP YOU PLAN YOUR TRIP TO VISIT US:
As you will probably be aware Oakwell is currently undergoing a major update of its facilities, and this has resulted in us having to undertake certain actions which will have an effect on your visit to the site until this is completed and details of these follow.
We feel sure that you will understand the need to do this and, like us, will look forward to the improvements we will all see.
The Visitor Information Centre will be closed, along with the shop in its current location from 16/11/14.
The Hall will stay open and remain so apart from occasional days, to be publicised in advance, for electrical work to be carried out. Can teachers please also note that no further School Bookings that require the use of the Visitor Centre will be booked until after Easter next year-there will also be non in the Hall other than the week already booked out for 2 costume visits and for visits running up until 28/11/14to see the Hall decorated for Christmas.
NOW THE GOOD NEWS!
A "pop-up" shop and information centre is now open in the downstairs office in the Office block next to the Café.
School visits to the Park only can still be booked - please contact Amanda Walker of the Ranger team for this.
The toilets in the court yard are still open and temporary facilities will replace these when they are being refurbished - we will keep you informed.
We hope to everything back to normal by Easter 2015 when our new improved facilities everywhere will make your visit even better.
In the meantime we thank you for your patience and look forward to seeing you all.
When to come
Please check with Oakwell about opening times on Bank Holidays, which may vary.
There is a small admission charge and visiting groups should pre-book. If you are a teacher planning a school visit to the Hall or Country Park, please download our teacher's guide.
Would all visitors please note that we no longer operate a call out service should any vehicles be locked in the car park nearest the Hall after the park closes at 5pm. Gates will open at 9am the following morning.
