Summer Gardens

It's summer and the gardens are a riot of colour. Lavender edges many of the beds and attracts butterflies in large numbers. Red valerian, mallow, campanulas and daylilies are just a few of the 1690 flowers that fill the beds, among clipped box and yew.

All the plants in the formal garden date from before that time, including our collection of shrub roses. There is plenty to see, from the hops to our heritage apple trees.
